The Center for Distributive Justice (CDJ, below) is a nonpartisan institution fostering academic and policy research on distributive justice, income distribution and inequality. CDJ was established in the Institute of Economic Research at Seoul National University on September 1, 2011. Its core research areas include 1) theories of distributive justice and normative economic theory, 2) social and economic inequalities and redistribution policies, 3) experimental social science and policy analysis, 4) multicultural society and social cohesion. CDJ promotes interdisciplinary research collaboration among scholars in Economics, Politics, Sociology, Philosophy etc.
CDJ organizes regular seminar series, international and domestic workshops in economic theory and applications, a quarterly policy workshop (Economy and Justice), and special lecture series in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. CDJ also hosts renowned international or domestic academic conferences such as the 14th Meeting of the Society for Social Choice and Welfare in 2018, the 20th Annual Meeting of the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory (SAET) in 2021, among others.
CDJ has been funded by the National Research Foundation of the Korean Government through the SSK Grant Program (NRF-2016S1A3A2924944) from its inception until 2020. It has also been funded by the Korean government and Seoul National University through the Research Project on Distributive Justice and Behavioral Economics.
